Diploma in Teaching Young Deaf & Hard of Hearing (Prospectus 10-11)                                                                                                           


Course
  • The total duration of the Diploma course is 1 year( July - May). The curriculum consists of theory and practical classes in the field of education of the hearing impaired.

  • On successful completion of the course the candidate will be awarded with a Diploma in Teaching Young Deaf & Hard of Hearing by the RCI.

    Number of Seats
  • Total no: of seats for the course is 25. 15% seats are available for NRI students.

    Eligibility
  • Sucessful completion of 10+2 or equivalent examination.from any board or university in India.

    Application Forms
  • Application can either be made Online or submitted on prescribed Application Form.
    2. Request for Prospectus and Application Forms can be made by Registered / Speed Post addressed to
    Satvat Infosol, 23 Lattice Bridge Road, III Floor Pizza Corner Building, Adyar, Chennai – 600 020 and
    accompanied by a Bank Draft for Rs. 500/- (Rs. Five Hundred) for General/OBC and Rs.250/- (Rs. Two
    Hundred and Fifty) for SC/ST/PH drawn in favour of “Member Secretary, RCI, New Delhi”, payable at
    New Delhi. Also enclose a blank self addressed envelope ( 21 cm × 30 cm) affixed with postage stamps for
    Rs. 25/-.
  • Deadline: April 27, 2010.

    3. Application Forms can also be downloaded from the RCI website www.rehabcouncil.nic.in and
    www.satvatonlineexams.com. Duly filled in application forms along with the requisite fee of Rs.500/-
    (General/OBC) and Rs.250/- (SC/ST/PH) in the form of Demand Draft should be addressed to Satvat
    Infosol, 23 Lattice Bridge Road, III Floor Pizza Corner Building, Adyar, Chennai – 600 020. Deadline for
    receipt of filled in Application Form is May 3, 2010.
    4. Online Application Form can also be submitted on website www.satvatonlineexams.com. The candidates
    making online application must submit Computer Generated Application Form alongwith requisite fee of
    Rs.500/- (General/OBC) and Rs.250/- (SC/ST/PH) in the form of Demand Draft should be addressed to
    Satvat Infosol, 23 Lattice Bridge Road, III Floor Pizza Corner Building, Adyar, Chennai –
    600 020. Deadline for receipt of filled in Application Form is May 3, 2010. The RCI
    will not be responsible for any postal delay.
    5. Instructions for completing and sending the Application Form are given in Annexure-3.
    Candidates are advised to go through the instructions carefully before filling up the
    Application Form. Instructions for online submission of application are available on
    www.satvatonlineexams.com.
    6. Candidates may check the status of their application on www.satvatonlineexams.com after 3rd May, 2010
  • Fees

    Conduct of Examinations
  • The admitted candidates will be evaluated continuously throughout the academic year. Apart from this there would be one mid term examination. The final examination would be conducted by the RCI.
     

    Issue of Diploma
  • Successful candidates will be awarded a Diploma by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
  • Provisional Passing Certificate will be issued by the training centre/NISH to sucessful candidates.

     

    Other Conditions
  • selected Candidatefor interview will be intimated by individual memo.
  • If any information given in the application by the candidate is found to be false on verification at the time of the interview or even at a later stage the candidate will forfeit his/her claim for admission.
     
  • Candidates called for the interview should report at the specified time with the originals of all the documents failing which he/she will forfeit his/her claim for admission. No change of date, time or venue of interview or extension of time for producing originals of documents will be allowed under any circumstances.
     
  • No TA will be given for attending the interview.
  • All candidates admitted to the Diploma Course in Special Education will have to abide by the rules and regulations issued for time to time by NISH.
  • All students are requested to follow the directions of the
    staff in academic matters and general discipline must be strictly followed by all the students.
     
  • Late entry to the classroom or laboratory will not be permitted.
  • Ragging in any form is strictly forbidden inside the campus.
  • Leave of absence will be granted only on medical grounds. However, such leave will be considered only for the purpose of granting condonation of shortage of attendance

     

    Boarding and Lodging
  • Hostel facilities are not available at NISH and students will have to make their own arrangements for boarding and lodging.Any other details not specifically covered by these clauses will be decided by the undersigned and such decisions shall be final
